Technically he didn’t post them to us, but one of our readers, vinneh, posted some interesting questions so I have asked Laura to give her answers and I’ll give mine! Here goes!
What film can you watch and never ever get bored with?
ELC: There are a few, Hot Fuzz, Dirty Dancing, Serenity, When Harry Met Sally and All About Eve are very high on the list.
LB: A few for me too, Green Card, Moulin Rouge, Dirty Dancing, Its a Wonderful Life, Abre los Ojos, Volver and all the Harry Potter films but especially HP and The Prisoner of Azkaban
Which movie character reminds you of yourself?
ELC: I actually think we should answer for each other – Laura I will say Miss Jean Brodie – in that I suspect that you inspire adulation and loyalty in your pupils and you are certainly in your prime!
LB: For Esther, I would say Louise to my Thelma.. or Oda Mae Brown in Ghost purely for crazy, funny, likeability!
If you could travel back in time, which era would you visit?
ELC: the 20s. I could totally relate to Gill in Midnight in Paris.
LB: I’d say the 1920s too but more for the New York, find myself a gangster scene.
If you could be reincarnated as an animal after your death, what animal would you want to be?
ELC: A cat
LB: A horse
What was the first movie that really scared you?
ELC: Probably Gremlins. I have always been a horror lightweight.
LB: Silver Bullet from 1985 watched with my older brother in secret via the meduim of VHS. Also, Nightmare on Elm Street… which is odd as I never actually saw it. I just remember being scared stiff by the publicity, the older, cooler kids talking about it at school and the mere thought of our Freddy!
If you could work on a film with just one actor or actress, who would you work with?
ELC: Niall Grieg Fulton – because he’s talented and you’d pick someone you knew right! Or anyone that meant I could work with Joss Whedon. Which I have no doubt one day would be Niall. Reserves list Daniel Bruhl, Marianna Palka, Carey Mulligan, hello Jason Isaacs.
LB: Leonardo diCaprio – an amazing talent! See a previous post.
Madonna or Lady Ga Ga?
ELC: 80s Girl – has to be Madonna. On second thoughts – in cinema phone use is a pet hate – so GaGa.
LB: Madonna, without a doubt. Wonder if she’d let me try “that bra” on?
Dog or cat lover?
LB: Dog. Cats are too ungrateful and disloyal. I’d feel used.
James Bond or Jason Bourne?
ELC: Bourne – his lovers have a slightly higher survival rate and he’s actively trying to stop killing people.
LB: Bond – in Roger Moore, cheesetastic form!
What song best describes you?
ELC: You Talk Too Much by the Sultans of Ping
LB: Material Girl, obviously still on the Madonna train of thought
What is your idea of a great weekend?
ELC: good company, good wine, good welcome,
LB: Friday flight to Madrid for a run round the galleries by day and tapas, Ribera del Duero and dancing by night and then back to recharge the batteries by an open fire with good food and drink and a supply of good films.
